Extraverted Intuition (Ne)
A Jungian cognitive function that explores external possibilities, generates new ideas, and sees connections between diverse information. Ne users are imaginative and adaptable.
Extraverted Intuition (Ne) focuses externally on possibilities, patterns across domains, and "what could be." Ne-users are idea generators, explorers, and conceptual connectors. They see potential and unusual combinations others miss.
Characteristics: naturally imaginative, generates ideas rapidly, bored by routine, sees multiple possibilities, skilled at brainstorming and innovation. They can get scattered, jumping between ideas without completing them, or overwhelm others with constant "what if" scenarios.
In Myers-Briggs, Ne is the primary function for ENTP and ENFP types. Ne combined with Introverted Thinking (Ti) creates the "logician" innovator (smart idea-generator). Combined with Introverted Feeling (Fi), it creates the "idealist" entertainer. Ne-users often excel in entrepreneurship, strategic planning, and fields requiring continuous adaptation. The challenge: commitment to execution and follow-through.
