Introverted Sensing (Si)

A Jungian cognitive function that stores internal details, memories, and sensory impressions. Si users are realistic, practical, and detail-oriented, relying on past experience.

Introverted Sensing (Si) focuses internally on details, memories, and sensory experience stored from the past. Si-users are the "keepers of tradition" — they notice what's changed, value experience, and rely on proven methods.

Characteristics: excellent memory for specific details, prefers familiar routines, notices small changes in environment, values tradition and continuity, thorough and realistic. They can get stuck in the past or become risk-averse, resisting necessary change.

In Myers-Briggs, Si is the primary function for ISTJ and ISFJ types. Si with Extraverted Thinking (Te) creates the "logistician" — systematic, reliable, procedural. Si with Extraverted Feeling (Fe) creates the "protector" — duty-oriented, family-focused, supportive. Si-users excel in fields requiring precision, consistency, and reliability (accounting, healthcare, quality assurance). They're the stability backbone of organizations.
