Each cell shows a compatibility score from 1 to 5 based on cognitive function theory. The strongest matches share the same dominant function in opposite orientations, which means the two people see the same things but from different angles. INTJ + ENTP, INFJ + ENFP, INTP + ENTJ, INFP + ENFJ are the classic 5-of-5 pairings for that reason.
Score 4 covers great matches with strong overlap in cognitive style and complementary energy. Score 3 is a good match that needs intentional communication. Score 2 means the pair has fundamentally different ways of processing the world and requires real work. Score 1 is rare and signals a pairing where both people will struggle without strong self-awareness on both sides.
