Ikigai

A Japanese concept meaning "reason for being" — the intersection of what you love, what you're good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for.

Ikigai (生き甲斐) is a concept from Okinawa, Japan — a region with some of the world's longest lifespans. It represents finding purpose through the overlap of four elements.

The four circles: What you love (passion), What you're good at (vocation), What the world needs (mission), and What you can be paid for (profession). Where all four overlap is your ikigai.

JobCannon's assessment suite maps directly to ikigai: Big Five + MBTI → what you love and who you are; Multiple Intelligences + Skills → what you're good at; Values Assessment → what the world needs (your values); RIASEC Career Match → what you can be paid for.
