How do I solve syllogism questions faster?
Syllogisms test validity, not truth, whether the conclusion must follow from the premises, regardless of whether the statements match the real world. The fastest approach is to take each premise literally, ignore outside knowledge, and check whether a counterexample is possible. If you can imagine the premises being true while the conclusion is false, the argument is invalid.
Is logical reasoning the same as IQ?
It overlaps with one part of it. Logical reasoning is a core component of fluid intelligence, your ability to reason and solve novel problems, which is what a full IQ test samples more broadly. A strong logical reasoning score is a good signal of general reasoning ability, but an IQ test also covers verbal, numerical, spatial, and abstract domains for a wider picture.
