Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is a cloud platform competing with AWS and Azure. Strength: database services (Autonomous Database, Exadata), compliance (FedRAMP, HIPAA), enterprise support. Learning curve: 3-4 weeks for basics, 6-8 weeks for architect certification. Salary: OCI architects earn $150k-240k+ (enterprise focus = premium). Market position: #3 cloud after AWS and Azure, 10% market share, growing. Skills demand: moderate (less than AWS, more than Alibaba).

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure څه شی دی

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is a cloud computing platform offering compute, storage, database, networking, and analytics services. Core strength: Oracle Database services (Autonomous Database most popular). Targets enterprises needing database expertise, compliance, and sovereign cloud options. Three service categories: Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS, compute/storage), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS, database), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS, enterprise apps).

❓ ډېرې پوښتل شوې پوښتنې

Why choose OCI over AWS?
OCI = database focus (Autonomous DB cheaper/better than RDS), compliance (FedRAMP, sovereignty), enterprise support, lower networking costs. AWS = wider ecosystem, more tools. Choose based on: database-heavy (OCI), general cloud (AWS).
What's Autonomous Database and why is it special?
Autonomous DB = fully managed Oracle Database. Auto-patches, auto-backup, auto-scaling, SQL only (no DevOps). Self-healing, self-tuning. Cost: 3x cheaper than traditional Oracle licenses.
How much does OCI cost compared to AWS?
Compute/storage similar to AWS. Database 30-50% cheaper (Autonomous DB included in pricing). Networking 1/3 cost of AWS. Big data: cheaper than Redshift. Database-heavy workloads = OCI win.
Can I migrate from AWS to OCI easily?
Mostly yes. Compute (VMs) straightforward. Databases harder (schema changes, tuning). Tools exist (AWS Database Migration Service, OCI Database Cloud Services). Plan 3-6 months for complex migrations.
Is OCI suitable for startups?
Yes, always-free tier (Autonomous DB, VMs, storage, 3GB bandwidth). Competitive for scale-ups. Enterprise = sweet spot due to compliance.
