Should I learn RxSwift or Combine?
Combine is Apple's native framework (iOS 13+). RxSwift is older, more mature, and has richer operator ecosystems. New projects prefer Combine; legacy projects use RxSwift. Learn Combine if starting fresh.
What's an Observable?
An Observable is a stream of events (value, error, completion) that an observer subscribes to. Similar to a Promise, but can emit multiple values over time.
How do I avoid the callback pyramid?
RxSwift's flatMap, map, and filter operators let you compose streams declaratively, replacing nested callbacks with readable chains.
Is RxSwift memory-safe?
RxSwift requires proper Disposable management (captured by [weak self] or DisposeBag). Mismanaged subscriptions leak memory.
Can I mix RxSwift with async/await?
Yes, with bridges. Converting between Observables and async/await is possible but adds complexity. Consider full migration to async/await if possible.
