It includes: design system setup and maintenance, design critique processes, design review workflows, design tool administration (Figma workspaces, permissions), asset organization, documentation, and training. The goal: enable designers to spend 80% of their time on design and 20% on administration/coordination. Without design ops, the split is often 50-50, slowing delivery and frustrating designers.
