Disaster Recovery Planning

Disaster recovery is the process of preparing for and recovering from catastrophic failures: natural disasters, cyberattacks, ransomware, data center outages, human error. A DR plan specifies how to restore critical systems and data with minimal downtime and data loss. Core components: RPO/RTO targets, backup/replication infrastructure, failover procedures, runbooks (step-by-step recovery guides), communication plans, and regular testing.
