FaunaDB is a serverless, globally-distributed database optimized for modern applications. Unlike traditional databases (you provision capacity, manage clusters), FaunaDB is serverless: pay-per-request, automatic scaling, no infrastructure to manage. Key features: ACID transactions (stronger guarantees than most NoSQL), multi-region replication (data replicated globally by default), and conflict-free eventual consistency (updates replicate automatically without manual conflict resolution). It's the database for Jamstack applications, edge computing, and serverless architectures.
