Ionic is a cross-platform mobile framework that lets you write a single app in TypeScript/Angular/React and deploy to iPhone, Android, and web with minimal changes. It leverages webviews and a bridge to native device capabilities (camera, GPS, contacts, push notifications). The framework provides pre-built UI components styled like iOS and Android so users don't see a "web app". Ionic apps run inside a webview wrapper on the phone—not true native code, but close enough for 95% of use cases. Deployment is standard: build, sign, upload to app stores.
