Mux is a managed video API that handles video encoding, streaming, and delivery globally. You upload video files (MP4, MOV, etc.); Mux transcodes them into adaptive streaming formats (HLS, DASH) at multiple quality tiers (480p → 1080p → 4K). Videos are served from a global CDN. Playback analytics track watch time, buffering, device type, and bitrate. Mux abstracts away infrastructure complexity: you don't manage encoding servers, CDNs, or streaming protocol details. API calls handle everything—upload, transform, deliver, analyze.
