Nordic SDK Wireless is the practice of developing embedded applications on Nordic Semiconductor's nRF5 series microcontrollers (nRF52, nRF53, nRF5340). These chips include Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) radio, allowing development of wearables, smart home devices, IoT sensors, and medical devices. The SDK includes examples, drivers, and abstractions for BLE protocol, but developers write C code to implement custom application logic. A Nordic wireless application typically handles: BLE peripheral or central role, advertising, connection management, GATT services/characteristics, low-power operation, and OTA (over-the-air) firmware updates.
