OTA Firmware Updates

OTA (Over-The-Air) Firmware Updates is the system for deploying software to embedded devices (IoT sensors, wearables, connected vehicles) remotely, without physical interaction. The system includes: firmware storage, downloading new versions, verification (signature checking), safe installation (bootloader coordination), rollback on failure, and monitoring (reporting success/failure). A modern OTA system enables manufacturers to push security patches, feature updates, and bug fixes to millions of devices simultaneously. Without OTA, physical recall is necessary (expensive, slow).
