There is no countdown timer forcing you through it, so you can read each sentence properly before you answer, and every question has exactly one correct answer, so unlike a personality test there is no way to answer 'as yourself' here: it is a knowledge test with a right answer to find.
Each of the thirty sentences has exactly one correct answer, identified by its exact wording rather than by where it sits in the list, and a correct answer earns points toward your total. That total places you into one of five accuracy bands, from Rules Still Settling to Near-Perfect Accuracy. The four area scores are calculated the same way but reported separately, alongside the band rather than changing it, so you can see which grammar area is pulling the total down.

This Grammar Test checks the mechanical accuracy of your written English through thirty standalone sentences, each missing one word or phrase and each with exactly one correct answer. The items cover four areas: tense and aspect, the forms that place an action in time; agreement and pronouns, matching a subject to its verb and a pronoun to what it refers to; articles, prepositions and modals, the small function words that carry outsized meaning; and punctuation and word choice, covering comma splices and confusable pairs such as lie and lay, fewer and less, affect and effect. The four areas are interleaved through the test rather than grouped into blocks, so a run of easy questions in one area cannot carry your overall score.

This is not a vocabulary test and not a reading test: there are no passages, no word-meaning questions and no comprehension items on an unfamiliar topic, only standalone sentences. It also does not produce a CEFR level or any single English-proficiency band — for that broader picture across grammar, vocabulary, reading and everyday workplace usage, the English Proficiency Test is the right instrument; this one isolates grammar accuracy on its own and goes no further. It says nothing about speaking or listening, and nothing about writing quality beyond mechanical correctness: a grammatically flawless sentence can still be unclear, badly organised or pitched at the wrong register for its reader, and none of that is visible here. It is a self-scored accuracy check, not an accredited certification and not equivalent to a professional proofreading or copy-editing qualification.
