The Three Bands
- Light — combined neptu 7 to 11 (12 of the 35 wetons)
- Balanced — combined neptu 12 to 13 (10 of the 35 wetons)
- Heavy — combined neptu 14 to 18 (13 of the 35 wetons)
Those cutoffs come directly from how neptu values actually cluster across all 35 combinations, picked as the most even three-way split the real distribution allows.
Why the Distribution Isn't Even Steps
Combined neptu isn't spread out evenly across 7-18. It peaks in the middle and thins out at both ends: one weton sits at 7, two at 8, two at 9, three at 10, four at 11, five at 12, five at 13, four at 14, three at 15, three at 16, two at 17, and one at 18.
That bell-shaped clustering, not a fixed number range, is what decides where the light/balanced/heavy lines actually fall.
The Lightest and Heaviest Wetons
Selasa Wage sits at the very bottom of the scale, combined neptu 7 (Selasa=3 plus Wage=4) — the lightest possible weton. Sabtu Pahing sits at the very top, combined neptu 18 (Sabtu=9 plus Pahing=9) — the heaviest.
