Physicians high in ideas pursue genuine understanding of why treatments work, not just that they do, which supports better clinical reasoning in novel presentations where established protocols do not straightforwardly apply.
Values. Willingness to question established assumptions supports the physician's ability to notice when a clinical practice has been maintained by institutional inertia rather than ongoing evidence.
