Enneagram Type 1 — The Reformer

Principled, purposeful, self-controlled, and perfectionistic. Core fear: being corrupt or defective. Core desire: to be good, ethical, and balanced.

Type 1s are driven by a strong inner critic that pushes them toward moral integrity and improvement. They see the world in terms of right and wrong and feel compelled to fix what's broken.

At their best, Ones are wise, discerning, ethical leaders. At their worst, they become rigid, judgmental, and self-righteous. Their growth path involves learning that imperfection is human and that they don't need to be perfect to be worthy.

Careers: law, quality assurance, editing, teaching, nonprofit leadership, compliance, and any role requiring high standards.
