Kinesthetic Learner
Someone who prefers concrete experience: practice, worked examples, simulation. In VARK the K mode means connection to reality, not physical movement.
Kinesthetic is the mode most often misread as "learns by moving around". Fleming defined K as a preference for connection to reality: concrete personal experience, practice, simulation, or a worked example that shows the idea actually operating. A case study read on paper can be kinesthetic in this sense; an abstract definition of the same principle is not.
In practice you ask for examples early and learn software by clicking through it rather than reading the manual.
A real effect nearby has nothing to do with individual style. Practice that resembles the situation the skill will be used in improves performance for everyone learning a procedural skill, regardless of preference scores. Attributing that to a kinesthetic style credits the learner for a property of the task.
Read a high K score as a warning about your tolerance for abstraction: front-load an example and give yourself something to attempt early.
