Take the free aptitude test: 30 questions across verbal, numerical, logical and abstract reasoning. Four section scores, one overall band, 8 minutes.
This Aptitude Test is a 30-question battery that scores four separate reasoning areas rather than folding everything into one combined number: verbal reasoning (vocabulary, analogies and sentence logic), numerical reasoning (arithmetic, percentages, ratios and number patterns), logical reasoning (syllogisms, conditional statements, ordering and deduction puzzles) and abstract reasoning (letter and number series, classification, coded rules and pattern completion). Every question has exactly one correct answer, and each section moves from straightforward items to harder multi-step ones, so the mix inside a domain is deliberately uneven rather than sorted easy to hard. The result reports all four section scores next to an overall band, so you can see which of the four is pulling your combined score down instead of one figure that hides it.
This battery is not timed or proctored, and it does not produce a norm-referenced percentile against a tracked population, so there is no claim here about how you rank against other test-takers. It samples all four domains across thirty questions rather than going deep on one of them, so it will not catch everything a dedicated verbal, numerical, logical or abstract reasoning test would surface on its own. It also does not touch job knowledge, personality, motivation or spatial manipulation skill, and it is not equivalent to a licensed, proctored instrument such as SHL Verify, the Criteria Cognitive Aptitude Test or Wonderlic — those are validated and normed in ways a free web screener is not, and none of this claims to predict how you would actually perform in a job. JobCannon also publishes a Cognitive Ability Test covering the same four domains in thirty-two questions, written around the pre-employment screens employers actually run, so if you came here to prepare for a named employer screen that page frames the same material that way.
You get four section scores — verbal, numerical, logical and abstract — plus an overall band that names your general reasoning profile in plain language, with a short note on what typically holds that band back and what to try next. The whole battery takes about eight minutes: thirty multiple-choice questions, no account needed to see the result, and no timer forcing you to rush a question you would otherwise get right. If one section clearly trails the other three, that is usually the more useful finding than the overall band itself, since it points at a specific area, words, numbers, logic or patterns, worth practising before you sit anything an employer actually scores.
