Computed from 3,248 completed EQ assessments on JobCannon. The most common result is Self-Awareness (42.3% of takers); the rarest is Social Skills (12.1%). These are our own first-party numbers — aggregate-only, no community estimates.
JobCannon serves one EQ instrument — identical items, identical scoring — translated into every language it runs in, so these columns are directly comparable. Self-Awareness is the most common result overall, and across 4 languages its share stays between 31.3% and 44.0%. Languages with fewer than 100 completed results are left out rather than rounded into a number that looks more precise than it is.
| Language | Takers | Most common result | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| English | 1,752 | Self-Awareness | 41.9% |
| Indonesian | 451 | Self-Awareness | 40.6% |
| Japanese | 327 | Self-Awareness | 44.0% |
| Arabic | 115 | Self-Awareness | 31.3% |
Mean score on a 0–100 scale across all 3,248 takers.
A score means nothing without the population it came from. These are the real cutoffs from all 3,248 takers' scores, sorted: half of everyone scores below the p50 column, and a score at or above the p90 column puts a taker in the top 10% for that dimension. We publish the deciles rather than the average alone because the average hides how tightly people cluster. The middle 80% of takers span 83 points on Social Skills, but only 66 points on Self-Regulation.
| Dimension | p10 | p30 | p50 | p70 | p90 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Social Skills | 17 | 50 | 67 | 67 | 100 |
| Empathy | 33 | 56 | 67 | 89 | 100 |
| Self-Awareness | 33 | 56 | 67 | 78 | 100 |
| Self-Regulation | 17 | 50 | 50 | 67 | 83 |
p50 is the median. Thresholds are raw scores on the same 0–100 scale as the means above.
Every percentage on this page is computed directly from completed EQ results in JobCannon's own database — not borrowed from textbooks, not carried over from community polls. We read one row per completed assessment, keep the result type and the dimension scores, and throw the rest away: no names, emails, individual answers or per-person rows are published or exported. Shares are rounded to one decimal, so a column can total a shade above or below 100.
The floors are deliberate. A test needs at least 100 completed results before it gets a page, and a language needs at least 100 results of its own before it gets a row — below that, a percentage looks far more precise than the count behind it. Cells under the floor are dropped outright rather than merged into an “other” bucket, because a bucket of unrelated languages is a number about nothing.
This is a self-selected sample: people who chose to take a free EQ test online. Read it as how EQ results are distributed among people who take EQ tests, not as how the underlying traits are distributed in any country or population. Whoever a free online assessment attracts is who these percentages describe.
We do not require age, gender or country to take a test, so this page carries no demographic breakdown — we would rather publish nothing than infer it. Language is the one axis we can report honestly, because it is the language the test was actually answered in, not a guess from an IP address. That still leaves it a language split, not a country split: English results come from everywhere English is spoken.

Self-Awareness, at 42.3% of 3,248 completed EQ assessments on JobCannon (pulled 2026-08-16). The next most common is Empathy at 27.6%. Across all 4 result types, the top three together account for 87.8% of takers.
Social Skills, at 12.1% of takers. That is roughly 1 in 8 people who complete the test. 0 of the 4 result types sit under 5%. Rarity here means rarity in this sample of 3,248 completed assessments, not rarity in the general population.
Less than people expect. Self-Awareness is the most common result overall, and across the 4 languages with enough data its share stays between 31.3% and 44.0%. Every language answers the same instrument with the same scoring, so the columns are directly comparable — the largest are English (1,752), Indonesian (451), Japanese (327).
3,248 completed EQ assessments, pulled on 2026-08-16. Only aggregates are published: result-type shares, dimension means and score thresholds. No names, emails, individual answers or per-person rows leave the database. A test needs at least 100 completed results to appear at all, and a language needs at least 100 results of its own before it gets a row.
Most EQ percentages in circulation trace back to a small number of older studies, or to community estimates repeated so often that the original sample size disappeared. The figures here are computed from JobCannon's own completed assessments, carry an explicit n and an explicit pull date, and change when the data changes. Where a figure differs from a familiar one, treat it as a real difference between two populations — people who choose to take a free online test are not a random sample — rather than as a correction to the other source.
