Terms of Service

Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using JobCannon (jobcannon.io), operated by JobCannon LTD (company number 15090881, registered at 18 Fir Tree Road, Banstead, Surrey, SM7 1NG), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not access the service.
Eligibility and Age Requirement
JobCannon is intended for adults aged 18 or older. By creating an account, taking any assessment, or otherwise using our services, you represent and confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
Our assessments are self-reflection and career-exploration exercises. They are not diagnostic tools, screening instruments, medical devices, or a substitute for professional advice of any kind (medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, or financial). If you are experiencing distress or need clinical assessment, please consult a qualified professional. Emergency resources: Samaritans UK 116 123, 988 (US), findahelpline.com (worldwide).
We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@jobcannon.io and we will remove that information and close the account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account where we have reasonable grounds to believe the user is under 18.
User Accounts
When you create an account, you must provide accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.
Subscriptions & Pricing
JobCannon offers one-time report purchases and recurring subscription plans. The price, billing frequency, and any trial period for the plan you select are shown on the checkout page before you pay, and remain visible afterwards in your account billing settings.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the price shown at signup unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account settings or by contacting us.
Business plans: allowance and extra assessments
Organisation plans include a monthly allowance of assessments. The allowance counts assessments, not people: a candidate you invite draws one unit for each assessment they are assigned, so inviting one person to three assessments uses three units. A candidate assigned the same assessment twice still draws one unit for it.
Assessments you assign by email invitation and assessments taken through your workspace's shared invitation link draw on the same allowance. Usage for the current period is shown in your workspace at any time.
Reaching the allowance does not stop your hiring. Invitations continue to work, and every assessment above the allowance is recorded against the billing period it was assigned in. Those extra assessments are not covered by the plan fee you have already paid, and we invoice them separately after the period ends.
Extra assessments are charged at $2 per assessment. We invoice them after the period ends, and we never take payment for extra assessments from your saved payment method automatically.
A free workspace is not invoiced, so there is nothing to bill afterwards: on a free plan, invitations stop once the allowance for the period is used. The same applies to a paid workspace whose subscription is no longer active, for example after cancellation or a failed payment.
Refund Policy
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all subscriptions. If you are not satisfied, contact us within 14 days of your purchase for a full refund.
UK statutory rights: Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day right to cancel digital services purchased online, starting from the day after you place the order. You can exercise this right by emailing support@jobcannon.io with your order details.
Waiver of the 14-day cooling-off period: To give you immediate access to premium reports and subscription content, we start performance as soon as you complete checkout. By clicking "Subscribe" or "Buy" you expressly consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that you will lose your right to cancel once the digital content has been fully supplied. For subscriptions, this means the first billing period is non-refundable once access has begun; our 14-day satisfaction policy continues to apply in parallel and is offered as a goodwill refund, not as a statutory right.
One-time trial-unlock fee: the $0.95 charge (or the equivalent amount in your local currency) that starts your trial is non-refundable. It grants immediate access to your full premium report, and once that report has been delivered and viewed, delivery is complete. This fee is separate from your monthly subscription — the refund and cancellation terms above for the subscription itself are unaffected.
How to cancel: you can cancel a subscription at any time from your account settings (Billing → Cancel Subscription) or by emailing support@jobcannon.io. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the current paid period. Single-report purchases are one-off and do not auto-renew.

Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease.
Limitation of Liability
JobCannon is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee specific outcomes, earnings, or employment results. We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via email or a prominent notice on the website at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you must stop using the service and may request a pro-rata refund for any unused prepaid period.
Dispute Resolution
Before initiating any formal legal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at support@jobcannon.io to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will endeavour to resolve the matter within 14 days. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, either party may pursue resolution through the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in this section prevents you from filing a complaint with a regulatory body or seeking injunctive relief.
User Responsibility
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless JobCannon LTD, its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the service, or your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
Force Majeure
JobCannon LTD shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, war, terrorism, pandemics, power failures, internet outages, government actions, or third-party service provider failures.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Career Assessment Disclaimer
JobCannon provides career assessments, personality tests, and recommendations for informational and educational purposes only. These are not professional career counselling, psychological advice, or employment guarantees. Results are based on self-reported data and validated psychological frameworks, but should not be the sole basis for major career or life decisions. We do not guarantee employment, income levels, or career outcomes. You are solely responsible for your career decisions. If you need professional career guidance, we recommend consulting a qualified career counsellor.
Electronic Communications
By creating an account, you consent to receive electronic communications from us, including transactional emails (account confirmations, password resets, payment receipts), service updates, and security alerts. These communications are necessary for the operation of your account and are not marketing. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time, but transactional communications will continue as long as your account is active.
Third-Party Links & Services
Our platform may contain links to third-party websites and services (including Stripe for payments, Supabase for authentication, and external course resources). We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and conditions.
No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver of any provision of these Terms will be effective only if in writing and signed by JobCannon LTD.
Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or by operation of law. These Terms will be binding upon and inure to the benefit of the parties and their permitted successors and assigns.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and JobCannon LTD regarding the use of the service and supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom, you also benefit from the mandatory protections of the consumer-protection law of your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms, including the choice of English law and jurisdiction, limits those mandatory rights.
Sanctions & Export Controls
You represent that you are not located in, and are not a national or resident of, any country subject to comprehensive UK, EU, US, or UN sanctions (including but not limited to Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Russia-occupied regions of Ukraine), and that you are not on any restricted-party or sanctions list maintained by those jurisdictions. You agree not to use the service in violation of applicable export-control or sanctions laws. We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe continued service would breach those laws.
