Enterprising (E) is Holland's code for ambitious, persuasive, leadership-oriented people. They enjoy influencing others, building organizations, and pursuing competitive goals. They're motivated by achievement, status, and control.
Enterprising careers include: CEO, entrepreneur, sales manager, politician, lawyer, business executive, real estate agent, and diplomat. Work environment: competitive, goal-driven, status-conscious, opportunity for advancement, rewards for achievement.
Enterprising types are natural networkers and coalition-builders. They see opportunity where others see problems. High Enterprising can create outstanding leaders, or manipulative people if combined with low Agreeableness. Combined with Conventional, they become accountants/CFOs (numbers + business). Combined with Social, they become executives with strong vision. Career satisfaction requires clear advancement path, recognition, and measurable success.
