Social (S) is Holland's code for people-oriented, helping-focused individuals. They enjoy developing others, providing support, and creating connection. They prefer working with people over ideas or objects.
Social careers include: teacher, counselor, nurse, social worker, manager, human resources, coach, therapist, and clergy. Work environment: collaborative, supportive, relationship-focused, appreciation for effort and helping.
Social types read emotions well and are motivated by seeing others improve. They excel in team environments and can become natural leaders. The challenge: may neglect their own needs or boundary, becoming overextended. Combined with Enterprising, they become executives. Combined with Artistic, they become therapists or performers. Career satisfaction comes from positive impact on others and visible growth in people they support.
