A certificate that is only an image is a claim, not evidence — anyone who can open it can change 38 to 78, and the hiring manager receiving it has no way to tell. Ours is signed, so the numbers can be re-derived by the reader instead of trusted.
That JobCannon issued this certificate, and that the name, speed, accuracy and date on it are byte-for-byte what we issued. Edit any of them and the verification link refuses the certificate.

Yes. The typing test has no paywall and the certificate is not an upgrade — there is no premium tier to buy before you can print it. You do need a free JobCannon account, because the certificate is issued from a saved result rather than from a form, and without a saved result there is nothing to certify.
Yes, and that is the point of it. Every certificate is signed and prints a verification link. The employer opens the link, no sign-in, and the page re-derives the name, speed, accuracy and date from the signature rather than reading them off the document they were sent. Change one character of any of those values and the link stops verifying.
No, and we say so on the verification page rather than leaving an employer to assume otherwise. The test is taken online and unsupervised, so we can attest that JobCannon issued the certificate and that its contents are unaltered — not who was at the keyboard. If identity matters for the role, an employer should follow up with a short supervised re-test.
Raw WPM is characters typed divided by five, divided by minutes elapsed — the standard gross formula. The certificate then prints net speed, which deducts 2 WPM for every 1% of error rate, so 60 WPM at 95% accuracy certifies as 50 WPM. That is stricter than most online typing tests, which report raw speed and ignore accuracy, so expect a lower number here than a practice site gives you.

Yes. Retaking the test produces a new result with a new date, and issuing a certificate from it produces a new certificate ID. An older certificate keeps verifying — it is a dated record of that sitting — so it is worth checking the date on any certificate you are sent.
