Validated scoring as a service
Call a validated instrument, get a scored result back. Server-side scoring, directional-item and pooled-key integrity, 126+ instruments — behind a single X-API-Key header.
JobCannon's psychometric API exposes validated instruments and their server-side scoring as a REST service. The frameworks are the public models used in occupational and counselling psychology — the Five-Factor Model (Big Five), Holland RIASEC, DISC, Goleman-model EQ, Schwartz values, and cognitive batteries — covering 126+ instruments in total. Integration is three calls (start a session, serve questions, submit answers to complete) authenticated with a single X-API-Key header (scopes assessments:send / assessments:read, SHA-256 hashed at rest). Scoring is deterministic and runs on the same engine as the consumer product, with directional-item handling, pooled/rotating-set key integrity, and rejection of degenerate submissions — so an API result is as trustworthy as one taken on jobcannon.io. Results persist to the partner organisation via api_org_id. Live on the Scale tier ($199/mo) with a monthly allotment then $2/assessment overage; revenue-share for white-label resale partners. Typical adopters embed validated psychometrics inside HR-tech, EdTech, coaching, and workforce products without building an item bank or scoring stack in-house.

The psychometric API is the umbrella over instrument-specific integrations — see the Big Five API, RIASEC API, and EQ API, or the personality test API overview. For the full request/response reference and the three-call lifecycle, see the Assessment API page on the JobCannon for Business hub.

A psychometric API lets your product administer a validated psychological instrument and receive a scored result programmatically, instead of building the item bank and scoring maths yourself. JobCannon's exposes the assessment engine behind 126+ instruments — Big Five (Five-Factor Model), RIASEC (Holland codes), EQ, DISC, and more — as three REST calls: start a session, serve the questions, submit answers for server-side scoring. You render everything inside your own UI.
The frameworks are the validated public models used across occupational and counselling psychology: the Five-Factor Model (Big Five / OCEAN), Holland RIASEC for vocational interest, DISC for workplace behaviour, Goleman-model emotional intelligence, Schwartz values, and cognitive/aptitude batteries. Each instrument returns a top_result (the headline type/code) and full per-dimension scores. Because scoring runs on the same engine as the consumer product, results are directly comparable to those taken on jobcannon.io.
Scoring is deterministic and server-side — you cannot tamper with it from the client. Directional (fake-good) items are handled by the engine, pooled/rotating question sets thread their pool index through to the correct scoring key (so a rotating IQ set never grades against the wrong answers), and degenerate submissions — an untouched default answer vector — are rejected before a result is written. This is the same integrity layer that protects the consumer assessments.
One X-API-Key header per request. Keys are issued per organisation (format jck_live_…), scoped to assessments:send and assessments:read, and SHA-256 hashed at rest. There is no OAuth exchange and no client secret to rotate. Sessions are short-lived signed tokens returned by the start call, so you hold no session state.
Traditional psychometric vendors either hide pricing behind "contact sales" or charge per-administration and enterprise annual licences that run into five and six figures. The JobCannon psychometric API is live on the Scale tier ($199/mo), which includes a monthly assessment allotment; assessments over the cap are $2 each. White-label partners who resell the instruments can move to a revenue-share instead.
