Career assessments for refugee resettlement, asylum-seekers, and skilled-worker placement. Foreign-credential context, language-accommodation modes, ORR-aligned procurement.

In Brief

JobCannon for Immigration Services supports refugee resettlement (ORR-funded R&P, Match Grant, RSS), asylum-seeker employment programmes, H-1B and skilled-worker placement, Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) programmes, UK Resettlement Scheme delivery partners, and Hong Kong BN(O) employment support. The platform addresses immigration-specific challenges generic career tools miss. Foreign-credential context: Skills Audit captures underlying skills behind credentials rather than just titles, with Career Guide mapping to bridge careers while credential recognition (WES, ECE, UK ENIC) is pursued. Limited-English-proficiency accommodation: visual-spatial assessments work without text fluency, audio-narrated mode in active build, bilingual case-manager administration supported. Asylum-pending data privacy: anonymous client-ID enrollment with no name, DOB, or immigration-status fields, never shared with DHS/ICE/USCIS or UK Home Office. ORR-aligned reporting: aggregate exports formatted for Match Grant and Refugee Support Services performance indicators, Assessment API integration with major case-management systems. Spanish in active build for resettlement-agency bilingual deployment; Arabic, Pashto, Dari, Ukrainian, Tigrinya are sponsorable on partnership engagements.

FAQ

Which immigration services typically deploy this?

Five common deployments. (1) Refugee resettlement agencies running ORR-funded employment-readiness for newly arrived refugees (R&P, Match Grant, RSS). (2) Asylum-seeker employment programmes serving asylum-pending and granted clients in the US and UK. (3) H-1B and skilled-worker placement services helping visa-holders identify role transitions. (4) Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) programmes for Iraqi and Afghan allies. (5) UK Resettlement Scheme delivery partners and Hong Kong BN(O) employment support. JobCannon serves each because the platform produces a concrete Career Guide that case managers use as evidence in employer-facing conversations.

How does it handle clients with limited English proficiency?

JobCannon is currently English-only in production with Spanish in active build. For limited-English-proficiency clients in resettlement contexts, three accommodations apply. (1) Visual-spatial assessments (Multiple Intelligences spatial subtest, IQ pattern recognition) work without English text fluency. (2) Audio-narrated mode in active build for English-language assessment with simpler vocabulary. (3) Bilingual case managers can administer the Skills Audit conversationally and enter responses on behalf of the client. For programmes serving large language groups beyond Spanish (Arabic, Pashto, Dari, Ukrainian, Tigrinya), additional language localisation is sponsorable on partnership engagements.

How does foreign-credential context work?

Many refugees, asylum-seekers, and immigrants arrive with foreign professional credentials (engineering, medicine, law) that are not directly recognised in the US or UK. JobCannon's Skills Audit captures the underlying skills behind the credential rather than just the credential title — a Syrian civil engineer enters experience as transferable skills (structural calculation, project management, AutoCAD, surveying), and the Career Guide maps to careers using those skills (engineering technician, drafter, project coordinator, construction supervisor) as bridge careers while credential recognition is pursued. Direct partnerships with credential-recognition services (WES, ECE in the US; UK NARIC/ENIC) are scoped on partnership engagements.

Is this ORR-aligned for federal refugee programme reporting?

Yes. We provide aggregate exports formatted for ORR (Office of Refugee Resettlement) Match Grant and Refugee Support Services performance reporting. Programme dashboards track participant completion, archetype distribution, and Career Guide outcomes feeding into the federal employment-outcome indicators. We do not replace your case-management system — we feed assessment and Career Guide data into it. Most resettlement agencies integrate via Assessment API on Business tier, with custom integration on partnership engagements for full ORR Title V reporting workflows.

What about data privacy for asylum-pending clients?

Asylum-pending clients face heightened data sensitivity — case-management data should never reach immigration enforcement. JobCannon supports anonymous client-ID enrollment (no name, no DOB, no immigration-status field) for asylum contexts. Data is stored on US Supabase infrastructure with role-based access; we sign a Data Processing Agreement covering exactly which fields are collected. We do not share data with any third party including DHS, ICE, or USCIS, and our privacy posture is pro-client by default. UK programmes face equivalent considerations under GDPR plus refugee-specific Home Office data-sharing concerns; we provide GDPR-compliant DPAs and never share data with Home Office or EU-equivalent agencies.

How is this different from generic case-management tools?

Generic case-management tools (CauseCast, Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud, ClientTrack) are good at tracking case-status, services delivered, and outcomes — they are not assessment platforms. JobCannon adds the assessment layer those systems lack: validated Big Five (OCEAN), RIASEC, Skills Audit, EQ, plus AI Career Match across 2,536 careers with skill-gap analysis. The Career Guide output feeds directly into the case-management system as evidence for employment-readiness milestones. Resettlement agencies typically keep their existing case-management system and add JobCannon for the assessment layer.
