Florida mandate
Fla. Stat. § 1003.4156 requires one internet-based Career and Education Planning course (grades 6–8) with research-based career assessments as a promotion requirement.
Florida law mandates that every student in grades 6, 7, or 8 complete an internet-based Career and Education Planning course as part of middle-grade promotion requirements. The statute explicitly requires that this course include research-based assessments to help students determine their educational and career options and goals—making career assessment a legal, not optional, element. The course must teach students how to access and update their personal education plan, and encourage them to revisit it at least annually through middle and high school.
This requirement creates a clear intervention point for JobCannon: middle-school teachers and counselors can deliver research-based career assessments as the centerpiece of their Career and Education Planning course, generating both the assessment results and the personal education plan documentation that Florida law calls for. Since the course is mandatory and internet-based, JobCannon's format fits naturally into the learning experience.

Scale is $199/mo and covers 200 people per billing period — one person, however many assessments they take, and a class-code arrival counts the same as an emailed invite. Growth is $999/mo for 1,000. Above that, or where enrolment should not be metered at all, it is an Enterprise conversation rather than a larger self-serve plan. A district-sized enrolment runs out of the monthly tiers quickly — the Education Licence below prices your whole enrolment per student for the year, assessments uncapped, and adds the full career and skills corpus.

One rate per enrolled student for the academic year, sized for Florida district or school-level rollouts. Assessments uncapped, career and skills corpus included — multiply your own enrolment by the band and you have the most this can cost before you talk to us.
$1.25 down to $0.80 per student, per year — assessments uncapped
That multiplication is a ceiling, not a bill. If our self-serve plans would cover the same number of students for less, you are quoted the lower figure — we do not sell an institution its own students back at a higher price than anyone can buy them for on the pricing page.
A large school, multi-school district or trust
A university, college or college group
A statewide or national programme
£350 per school, per year — a flat whole-school licence rather than a per-student rate, because that is the unit UK schools budget in. Same uncapped assessments and same corpus. Excludes VAT.
The ladder starts at 1,301 students. Below that a self-serve plan already covers your whole roll for less than a licence would, so that is what we will point you at — and UK schools have the flat whole-school licence above at any size. Bands are by enrolment, and the rate applies to your whole roll rather than to a seat count you have to predict. Invoiced annually against a purchase order; no per-assessment charge and nothing to top up mid-year. Assessing an institution's enrolled students is covered by the Education Licence, not by a hiring plan. What is in the corpus.
Tell us how many students you expect to assess in a term and what your review process asks for. If something on your requirements list is not in the product, we will say so in the reply rather than in the pilot.
Florida's statute calls for research-based assessments but does not name a specific tool. JobCannon's RIASEC is a nationally validated instrument with decades of peer-reviewed research behind it; the Career Match and Skills Audit are similarly evidence-based. These assessments meet the statutory 'research-based' requirement and provide the educational and career data Florida law mandates.
The statute requires the course once (in grades 6, 7, or 8), not annually through all three grades. However, if a district wants to repeat or deepen career exploration across middle school, JobCannon's multiple assessments (Multiple Intelligences, RIASEC, Skills Audit) allow for varied but complementary data collection. Many districts administer one in 6th or 7th and then revisit in 8th to track interest evolution.
Florida does not specify the format, only that it must be signed by student and parent. JobCannon generates a printable Career Guide PDF with assessment results; districts can print and have both sign it, or use digital signature. Either way, JobCannon's output satisfies the plan documentation requirement.
The personal education plan is meant to be portable. JobCannon's Career Guide PDF can be printed or sent electronically, allowing the student to carry their assessment results and plan to a new school. Counselors at the new school can review the existing results or re-administer an assessment if significant time has passed.
JobCannon's bulk-invite feature allows counselors to re-engage students each year. A simple reminder email with a link to their prior results, plus an option to re-take an assessment, makes the annual revisit straightforward. Districts can build this into their 9th- or 10th-grade course calendar or counselor workflow.
Florida does not require the career planning course itself in high school—the one-time middle-grades course is mandatory for promotion, though the statute encourages students to update their personal education plan annually through high school at their own initiative.
