Coordinator-grade analytics

See your cohort. Without seeing your students.

Aggregate completion, archetype distribution, skill-gap heatmaps, and cohort comparisons. Built so coordinators understand programme impact without invading individual student privacy.

In Brief

The Institutional Dashboard is JobCannon’s coordinator-facing analytics layer. It ships with five default views: cohort completion tracking, archetype distribution with national baselines where available, aggregate skill-gap heatmaps, Career Match cluster visualisation, and side-by-side cohort comparison (year-over-year, school-to-school, programme-to-programme). Every view is aggregate by design; coordinators never see raw psychometric answers. Real-time data refresh — assessment completions reflect within 60 seconds. CSV and PDF exports for aggregate data; individual exports require student consent or institutional research basis. Available on the Business tier ($199/mo flat) and on partnership engagements. The dashboard is built for FERPA-aligned, GDPR-aligned, and minor-student deployments where exposing individual psychometric data to a coordinator would breach trust or regulation.

Five views that ship by default

Built around what coordinators actually need.

Completion tracking
See cohort completion rates in real time. Spot students who started but stalled — sometimes a tap on the shoulder is all they need. Filter by date, by group, by school.
Archetype distribution
How does this cohort split across personality archetypes and RIASEC types? Compare to national baselines (where data is available) to spot demographic patterns.
Skill-gap heatmap
Aggregate of skills the cohort identifies as wanting to build. Programme directors use this to design follow-up workshops. Funders use it to prove impact.
Career Match clusters
Which careers is your cohort gravitating toward? Useful programme-design feedback — if 40 percent of a vocational cohort matches strongly to creative careers, you need to rethink intake.

Related on JobCannon

The institutional dashboard is the analytics layer of the JobCannon for Business platform; it sits on top of cohort management and reads from the same data, so coordinators move from cohort-level lists to organisation-level rollups without an export step.

Districts deploying it across many buildings find the cross-school view in our school-districts vertical the most relevant pattern, and the FERPA student-data guidecovers what role-based access looks like when district administrators see aggregate metrics while building counsellors see only their school's named-student records.

FAQ

What does the dashboard actually show?

Five views ship by default. (1) Cohort completion — who has finished, who started but stalled, who has not begun. (2) Archetype distribution — how the cohort splits across personality archetypes and RIASEC types, with comparison to a national baseline where available. (3) Skill-gap heatmap — aggregate of which skills the cohort identifies as wanting to build. (4) Career Match clusters — which careers the cohort is gravitating toward, useful for programme-design feedback. (5) Comparison view — multiple cohorts side by side (year-over-year, school-to-school, programme-to-programme). All views are aggregate; raw psychometric answers are never visible to coordinators.

Why never expose raw answers to coordinators?

Two reasons. (1) Trust — students take honest assessments only when they trust the data is theirs alone. Coordinators visible to a 14-year-old at a school know more than enough about that student already; the assessment is a private space. (2) Compliance — FERPA, GDPR, and most ethical frameworks treat raw psychometric data as sensitive. Aggregate cohort patterns are insightful; individual scores in a coordinator’s hands are a liability waiting to happen. The only exception is when a student explicitly consents during the assessment to share their summary with their counsellor, which is a separate flow.

How is data refreshed?

In real time. As students complete assessments their data is reflected in the cohort dashboard within 60 seconds. There is no batch ETL or daily-refresh delay — the dashboard is the live state of the cohort. For partners with internal BI tools, an Assessment API is available on the Business tier with webhook events on every Career Guide completion.

Can I export data?

Yes — aggregate cohort data exports as CSV or PDF report. Per-student data exports require explicit student consent or a documented institutional research basis. For research and accreditation reporting, a fully de-identified export is available with a one-time legal review (no charge, takes 1-2 business days).

Does the dashboard work on mobile?

Yes, fully responsive. Coordinators commonly check completion rates and intervention flags on mobile during the day; deeper analysis like cohort comparison views work better on a tablet or desktop. The dashboard is a Progressive Web App so coordinators can pin it to their phone home screen.

How does this differ from generic admin tools?

Generic admin dashboards in career-assessment platforms usually show "list of users + click for details". The JobCannon dashboard is built on the assumption that coordinators care about cohort patterns first, individuals second, and never raw answers. The default views answer questions like "is the cohort engaged" or "where are the skill gaps" rather than "show me person 47’s answers". This default works for FERPA-aligned use, GDPR-aligned use, and for institutions where students are minors.
