North Carolina career standards crosswalk
Career Development Plan (CDP) Guidance (North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI)) covers grades 6-8 in 1 group and 3 criteria. 0 are evidenced directly by something the platform produces, 1 more are supported by a named result plus teacher-led classroom work, and we make no claim on the other 2. The two claimed groups are never added into one number.
North Carolina compels a middle-grades career plan by law. Compelled by statute, with a graduation-style gate rather than a mere reporting duty. N.C. Gen. Stat. § 115C-158.10, enacted by Session Law 2023-134 (HB259 §7.13) and amended by Session Law 2024-1 (SB508 §2.8C), reads: "All middle and high school students enrolled in a local school administrative unit shall complete a career development plan that meets the requirements of this section... A student shall not be promoted from eighth grade until a career development plan is created and shall not be promoted from tenth grade until the career development plan is revised." Effective July 1, 2024, applying beginning the 2024-2025 school year. Withholding an 8th-grade promotion is a harder lever than any reporting or attestation duty on this list.
The standard itself: Career Development Plan (CDP) Guidance, published by North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI), grades 6-8. Three criteria. The guidance document prints them as unlettered checkmark bullets under one heading rather than a numbered standard, so the codes below are ours, constructed for citability rather than reprinted.
Below is every one of its 3 criteria, what closes each, and what a student walks away with — 0 evidenced directly, 1 supported via lesson plan, 2 not claimed. Nothing on this page is claimed as evidenced directly: every claim North Carolina gets from us needs a teacher to close it.
Every criterion, what closes it, and what a student walks away with.

The two claimed counts stay separate on purpose — merging platform-evidenced and teacher-supported criteria into one number would flatter the platform at your expense.
NCDPI's guidance names the plan and its three required steps in prose and bullet form, with no code of its own on any of them. The "CDP-Gr6to8-N" codes are JobCannon's, built so each row can be pointed at on its own — they resolve to the guidance page's checkmark list, not to a printed citation.
Complete a self-assessment that includes: Aptitudes; Skills; Values; Personality; Career interests.
/assessments/logical-reasoning, /assessments/numerical-reasoning, /assessments/verbal-reasoning, /assessments/spatial-reasoning or /assessments/abstract-reasoning for aptitudes, /assessments/skills-audit for skills, /assessments/values or /assessments/values-compass-mini for values, /assessments/big-five, /assessments/disc, /assessments/mbti or /assessments/enneagram for personality, and /assessments/riasec, /assessments/career-match or /assessments/onet-interest-profiler for career interests — each assignable to a named student from the school dashboard
A scored, dated result per facet, held against the student by the school
Every named facet is produced directly by a school-assignable instrument, but as five separate results rather than one combined self-assessment document. Assembling the five into the single record this element describes is the counselor's step, not the platform's.
Explore career pathways that align with the student's self-assessment including: Education, training, and certifications needed; Most cost-efficient path for entry into the career; Opportunities within the school setting to explore and prepare for the career.
No JobCannon surface addresses this criterion. We are not naming a workaround for it.
One of the three named sub-elements has a near miss worth naming: individual career profiles at /careers/search carry an education-level tier, though only for 1,020 of the 2,749 careers in the corpus (measured 2026-09-06), and no named certification list. The other two — cost of entry and opportunities local to the student's own school — are not data JobCannon holds at any coverage; the second is inherently specific to one building's own course and program offerings.
Create a CDP before promotion from 8th grade.

Four rules, applied to every one of North Carolina's 3 criteria.
Grouped by the criteria each one actually closes — read from the rows, not chosen for the page.
Two district contracts as published in board papers — one covering a single school year, one a five-year agreement — beside our per-student rate for one academic year
This is North Carolina's page in a set of state career-standards crosswalks built the same way — every criterion of a state's own document, matched one at a time, with what we do not claim listed as plainly as what we do. The most detailed of them is Arizona's grades 6-8 eCTE crosswalk, which carries a per-row evidence trail and four documented revision passes. The others: Texas, California, Utah, Illinois, Colorado, Georgia, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Michigan, Washington, Massachusetts, Tennessee and Virginia.
A career-standards document is not the same thing as a plan-completion mandate — for whether North Carolina compels an individual student plan, and under which statute, see our career and education plan mandate directory. For the wider grades 6-8 deployment this crosswalk sits inside, see JobCannon for Middle Schools, or career assessments for school districts for a multi-school rollout. Both are part of the JobCannon for Business hub.
Scale is $199/mo and covers 200 assessments per billing period — the same unit as any school or district deployment. Where the crosswalk above is the evidentiary piece a procurement review needs, the Education Licence below prices your whole grade band per student for the year, assessments uncapped.

One rate per enrolled student for the academic year, sized for North Carolina district or school-level rollouts. Assessments uncapped, career and skills corpus included — multiply your own enrolment by the band and that is the price, before you talk to us.
$3.00 down to $2.00 per student, per year — assessments uncapped
A large school, multi-school district or trust
A university, college or college group
A statewide or national programme
£350 per school, per year — a flat whole-school licence rather than a per-student rate, because that is the unit UK schools budget in. Same uncapped assessments and same corpus. Excludes VAT.
The ladder starts at 1,301 students. Below that there is no licence to quote: a roll that small is better served by a self-serve plan, and that is the one case where a plan covers a school’s own students — UK schools have the flat whole-school licence at any size. Bands are by enrolment, and the rate applies to your whole roll rather than to a seat count you have to predict. Invoiced annually against a purchase order; no per-assessment charge and nothing to top up mid-year. Assessing an institution's enrolled students is covered by the Education Licence, not by a hiring plan. What is in the corpus.

Career Development Plan (CDP) Guidance, published by North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI), grades 6-8. Dated July 2025. The CDP itself runs from grade 6 through high school, revised again at grade 10 — the three rows below are the guidance document's own grades 6-8 checklist, the slice a middle school is responsible for before the 8th-grade promotion gate. Three criteria. The guidance document prints them as unlettered checkmark bullets under one heading rather than a numbered standard, so the codes below are ours, constructed for citability rather than reprinted.
It means the platform produces the artefact the criterion asks for with nothing a teacher has to add. No North Carolina criterion is closed that way, and the count on this page is zero rather than absent. Every claim below is the weaker kind, and each row says so.
It means the platform supplies the data or the assessment result and a teacher runs the classroom half — it is weaker, and it is labelled separately for that reason. 1 criterion are closed this way: CDP-Gr6to8-1. A plan a system wrote for the student would not satisfy the standard, and claiming it would not be worth much either.
Because the 0 and the 1 are different kinds of evidence — one is work the software does on its own, the other is work a teacher does with something the software supplies — and merging them into one headline number would flatter the platform at your expense. Every row states which of the two it is, and the counts are shown as separate pills rather than added together.
We make no claim on them. No JobCannon surface — assessment, career-page field or glossary entry — addresses them, and they are listed exactly as plainly as the 1 we do claim: same row format, same visual weight, a stated "not claimed" rather than an absence.
